Once again, the past semester was drastically altered by the pandemic. In late August, in accordance with state health procedures and the nature of congregate living, the chapter house and occupants spent 14 days in quarantine due to a positive case in the house. The University was very supportive with resources for students and Greek facilities. UND provided students who tested positive, or a close contact, an isolation hotel room free of charge. Free breakfast, lunch, and dinner were delivered every day for students isolating/quarantining. Since then the chapter house has not had to quarantine. Recruitment has been a top priority of ours, but we had to make many adjustments with the many changes in guidelines.
The chapter held virtual recruitment sessions along with outside events with masks. Despite all of this, the chapter has exhibited much growth in many aspects. The chapter welcomed seven outstanding men into the brotherhood this fall semester. Additionally, the chapter studied hard and achieved a cumulative 3.55 GPA, which put us with the highest fraternity GPA and second overall Greek!
A new semester means new opportunities and new growth, but it also means new leadership. The chapter has elected a great group of leaders that will continue to grow the chapter and embody our principles. I will be forever privileged and grateful for the memories, personal growth, and connections I have made while being chapter president.
Fraternally,
