Message From the President

Jack Parrish ’26

My time in this chapter has given me some of my best friends and fondest memories of UND. I am honored that the men of this chapter have put their faith in me to lead them and I strive to maintain that trust. I am incredibly grateful to our alumni for their time and financial support in building this new chapter house and their continued support in recruitment and maintaining our strong brotherhood. I also cannot thank our previous chapter president, Keith Wilson ’26, enough for giving me the tools to succeed as chapter president. I would also like to acknowledge the work the current executive board has put in to take our chapter to new heights and continue building better men.

My focus has been on redefining our chapter culture, as we can all agree on one task that is sure to continue well past my term. I initiated during our last semester at 505 Princeton St. and had a seamless culture shift from the chapter as we now. Moving into a brand new house and our growing visibility on campus has required us to reassess our culture, both and look at the rules that chart our chapter forward. I want to focus my presidency on upholding our traditions, while redefining the status quo for what it means to be a member of Delta Upsilon at the University of North Dakota.

This year in 2024, we got our record one of the largest initiation classes in nearly 10 years. We had 19 outstanding men initiate with a new member GPA of 3.40, the second highest of all Greek new member GPAs. We ended our semester with a chapter GPA of 3.37, placing us in the top 3 for Greek life and above the all Greek average. This class was the last group I taught during my term as associate member educator, and I could not be prouder of the growth they exhibited from formal pledging to initiation. Even now I see their continued development and leadership and I feel confident in the men that will be the future of this chapter.

We received several awards during this year’s Greek Awards for our chapter accomplishments. We received the Excellence in Leadership Development, Excellence in Brotherhood, and we were one of only 4 chapters to receive the President’s Award for Greek Excellence.

This semester has been very successful for our chapter, but this is only the beginning. We have a very healthy brotherhood and strong prospects going into fall recruitment. I will do my utmost as president to push our chapter forward and continue to succeed.
